The Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology is committed to instructing students in the skills and principles of Cosmetology and Nail Technology. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the New York Department of State and Appearance Enhancement and Nail Technology examinations, earn their cosmetology licenses and help them begin long-term careers within our industry.

Why Cosmetology?

At Orlo, we are passionate about cosmetology, and our students are, too. Working in the cosmetology industry allows us to make personal connections with people, surround ourselves with creative minds, and learn and experiment with new techniques throughout our careers. The services learned in beauty school are always in demand, ensuring the skills you develop today will be valued for years to come.

In addition to learning the arts and sciences of hair, skin and nails, career opportunities available to the licensed cosmetologist include:

  • Hairdresser
  • Nail Technician
  • Esthetician
  • Beauticians
  • Salon Manager
  • Platform Artist
  • Sales Representative
  • Consulting
  • Make-up Artist

… and many more!

The Cosmetology Program

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete the 1000-hour Cosmetology curriculum in accordance with our Satisfactory Progress Policy and satisfy all monetary obligations to the school. Graduates then receive a diploma, which states that they have successfully completed the required 1000 hours of training and are eligible for a temporary cosmetology license. They are then qualified to take the New York State Licensing Exam.
