Admissions

Applying to colleges can be an exciting time, even if it’s a bit nerve-wracking. At The Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology, we know that choosing your cosmetology school is a big decision, and we understand if you’re a bit nervous about it. Our admissions team is prepared to answer any questions you may have about our beauty school, our program or our applications process at any time!

Orlo accepts students on a rolling basis. New classes begin every month!

Cosmetology Program Admission Requirements

Each applicant must submit the following documents:

  • Proof of age (the applicant must be 17 years of age) documented by a driver’s license, birth certificate, passport or other State or Federal ID
  • Copy of a high school diploma or GED
  • $100.00 non-refundable registration fee
  • Enrollment agreement

In addition, all applicants must attend an interview and have a tour of our school prior to admission.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

Orlo does not recruit students already attending a school that offers a similar cosmetology program. It is our policy to discourage students from transferring beauty schools as it can be costly and may cause an interruption to the continuity of the student’s education.

However, we understand when unforeseen circumstances or hardships may make it necessary to transfer. Relocation from another state or geographic area, inability to complete a vocational or high school program, etc., will be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.

A maximum of 500 hours may be accepted from another recognized school. The transfer process cannot begin until we receive, by mail, an official transcript of hours and grades completed at the previous school. Potential transfer students must also provide documentation that meets our entrance requirements. A personal interview and examination to determine the number of hours that may be accepted must be completed before acceptance. Prospective transfer students will be responsible for all equipment and supplies needed to complete the examination, and the examination will cost $100.00.

An hourly rate of $10.30 per hour will be charged for the remaining hours needed to complete our program, plus the cost of kit, books, supplies needed and a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee.
